Local IT Company Targets Central Eastern European Market

Carlow based ICT Company, Astute Development Group, was one of fourteen micro-businesses that travelled to Vienna to identify new market opportunities and forge new business relationships on an all-island basis, across Central Eastern Europe.

Astute Development Group, a client of Carlow County Enterprise Board, is a global provider of technology telemarketing and IT sales lead generation programmes to technology companies.

The visit to the ITnT Trade Show, Austria’s largest trade fair for ICT and Telecommunications, was organised by MicroTrade, a partnership programme between InterTradeIreland, the County & City Enterprise Boards and Enterprise Northern Ireland

The delegates took part in pre-arranged meetings with companies from over 20 countries. Initial feedback indicates that a number of working partnerships and significant sales will be generated over the coming year as a result.

Astute's Business Development Manager, Thomas Dermody said: “I had multiple pre-arranged meetings with a range of companies and have already had advanced commercial discussions with a number of these prospective clients. It would have taken an enormous amount of time and effort to progress these accounts independently”

MicroTrade offers a range of supports direct to micro-enterprises interested in exploring all-island trade and co-operation including link-up funding, new market entry funding, public sector tender training, networking events and cross-border business advice.
