The small business community faces many challenges in today’s economic climate and we aim to support these needs through the provision of practical entrepreneurial learning which is vitally important in the early stages of business development.
All of our training initiatives are practical and interactive with emphasis on implementation and in some cases one to one mentoring is inclusive which is very advantageous for any small business. Often in a busy business environment owner/managers feel unable to set aside the time to undertake training which may prove invaluable to their business. The SCEB recognize how important time is to an owner/manager and hence programmes and courses are designed so that they offer these valuable supports in a way that takes account of the practical amount of time an owner/manager may be able to commit to the process. The experience of the Carlow County Enterprise Board is that once a business develops a relationship with the Board and its suite of supports they very often return again and again in order to refresh and develop various business competencies offered in the programmes. Many business owners/managers who have participated in training in the past have expressed positive intentions of engaging in further training which is evidence of its high quality and value for money.
